Consistent with state and federal privacy laws, and as a condition of treatment, audio or video recordings are not permitted inside Retina Institute of Virginia facilities. Should anyone be observed recording or taking photographs with a cellphone or other device, the individual will be asked to immediately erase the audio, video, or photograph to protect the privacy of other patients and RIV associates.


Due to increased risk of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) within the United States, the Retina Institute of Virginia is continuing to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in our offices. We are open on a daily basis to continue care and treatment for our patients. In order to minimize risk to patients and staff, patients and guests will be screened, to include temperature checks and the questions below:

1)Are you experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19?
a) Fever
b) Cough (to include allergy related cough)
c) Shortness of breath
2) Are you currently subject to a COVID-19 quarantine or self-isolation?
3) Are you unvaccinated and aware of recent exposure to someone with COVID-19?

We are currently allowing patients to bring one adult guest with them to their appointment as needed. To minimize traffic in our waiting areas, patients and guests may be asked to wait in their vehicles prior to their appointment.
